Don’t just save that green top for St. Patrick’s Day! Wear green often! It’s an overlooked color yet is very beautiful and flattering whether it’s in a piece of clothing, your makeup or your accessories. Compare the different shades of greens to find the ones that suit you best. Ask yourself, do you look better in lime green, a deep forest green or perhaps a Kelly green?
With our Color Alliance color analysis system, the guesswork is done for you plus your color palette will host a minimum of 3-4 of your most flattering greens. As a bonus, for some of us, green is the complement to our skin tone which makes it a must-have color for our wardrobe. For that reason, I have quite a bit of green in my closet!
What does green say?
Bright and light green suggests growth, renewal, healing, and wealth. A deeper green evokes feelings of stability, prosperity, and earth-friendliness. For a sophisticated look, wear a dark green top paired with your best neutrals like navy, black, beige, white or gray.

Bright green paired with navy or beige says ENERGETIC and FUN!
Green in your closet
When it comes to clothing choices, experiment with cool v. warm greens and deep v. pale greens to see what flatters you most. A Kelly-green dress or blazer can be a standout statement piece, while olive or sage green trousers offer a more subtle, earthy vibe. Layering green sweaters or vests over neutral tops creates visual interest and makes the color pop. Don’t hesitate to mix shades of green with classic pieces in your wardrobe—green pairs beautifully with navy, black, beige, and even denim for a fresh look.

Your accessories
Accessories are a fantastic way to introduce green without committing to a full outfit. Try a bold green handbag or clutch to add a punch of color to a neutral ensemble. Scarves, hats, or shoes in bright or deep green can elevate a simple look and show off your personality. Even delicate touches, like emerald earrings or a jade bracelet, offer a hint of sophistication and can tie your outfit together.

And in your makeup too!
Incorporating green into your makeup routine is another way to embrace the color. Consider a soft green eyeliner or eyeshadow to bring out your eye color, especially if you have hazel or brown eyes. For a more daring look, try a subtle shimmer on the lids. If you’re feeling adventurous, a green-tinted nail polish or accent nail can add a playful element. Pairing green makeup with neutral tones on the rest of your face ensures the color remains chic and wearable.

Remember, you don’t have to go all in—if you’re new to green or hesitant to wear it head-to-toe, start small. A green T-shirt or scarf is an easy way to test the waters. For a pop of color in summer, a green handbag or a pair of sunglasses can instantly refresh your style. Over time, you’ll discover which shades and combinations of green make you feel most confident and vibrant.
